Blog Post #5: Character Archetypes
I'm only about 20 pages into the book City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. So far I haven't really been able to see all the archetypes but I do see the main character, Clary, to be the hero. Not even a few pages into the book, she went after the mysterious people with the knives she saw, just to help save the Blue-haired boy they had trapped in a closet. "Clary could take no more. She stepped out from behind the pillar. "Stop!" she cried. "You can't do this." (Clary, page 12). This is the part of the story where Clary is in the storage room, watching the shadow hunters surround the blue-haired boy. She didn't like it and decided to try and stop it even though she knew the people attacking had knives. This showed self-sacrifice, a quality of a hero.
